Activity- Classical Conditioning
Assignment: Create a storyboard about classical conditioning. Pick your own experiment (not Pavlov's dog). Make sure to use all the correct vocabulary!

Welcome to my blog for Psychology. I update my blog after each class. My goals are to have students use this site to find out what they missed when absent and to let you know what we are doing in class.

2nd Semester is off to a great start. Communicating with you is also very important. Please make sure that I know the best way to communicate with you. We are getting ready to start our first unit, an introduction to psychology. We will also be studying about theories of learning and personality, memory, altered states of consciousness, and psychological disorders.

All missing work for the last six weeks is due by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9th.

National Peace Essay Contest

High school students can win college scholarships up to $10,000.

The United States Institute of Peace is holding our annual NATIONAL PEACE ESSAY CONTEST. This scholarship contest is for high school students who are interested in international issues, conflict resolution, peace studies, justice, and human rights. The 20102011 contest’s topic is “GOVERNANCE, CORRUPTION, and CONFLICT.” The topic changes every year. THE DEADLINE FOR THE 20102011 CONTEST IS FEBRUARY 1, 2011. Entries must be received by this date.

Statelevel selection categories include the fifty U.S. states, Washington, D.C., U.S. Territories, and American students abroad. First place statelevel winners compete for national awards and are invited to a weeklong education program in Washington, D.C. The Institute pays for expenses related to the program, including travel, lodging, meals, and entertainment. The scholarship award amounts are:

1 National award, first place: $10,000*
1 National award, second place: $5,000*
1 National award, third place: $2,500*
53State awards, first place: $1,000 each (*national awards include state award amounts)
